Hon’ble Minister Sri Chandra Mohan Patowary born on 02-10-1955 at Danguapara in Nalbari district Assam. His Father Sri Lankeswar Patowary and Mother’s Srimati Jayanti Patowary. Sri Patowary wife Dr. Rita Chowdhury is an established poet, novelist and Sahitya Academic Award recipient in the world of Assamese literature. Sri Patowary have two children’s Kristie Kashyap (Daughter) and Abhiruk Patowary (Son).

Sri Chandra Mohan Patowary is General Secretary of Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad and member of steering committee of All Assam Gana Sangram Parishad consisting of 11 (Eleven) organizations of Assam.

Assam Gana Parishad (AGP): After Assam Accord sign among “AASU”, “AAGSP”, Govt of Assam and Govt of India. Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) a Political Party formed at Golaghat convention held from 13-14 October 1985, in Golaghat.
In the year 1985, Sri Chandra Mohan Patowary joined Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) and elected as Secretary of the Assam Gana Parishad Party.

Sri Chandra Mohan Patowary elected as independed “Minister of Legislative Assembly” (MLA) from the same constituency.

Sri Chandra Mohan Patowary elected as “Member of Legislative Assembly” from “Asom Gana Parishad” (AGP) and become Minister for Agriculture, Government of Assam.
During (2006 to 2011)
Sri Chandra Mohan Patowary elected as “Member of Legislative from “Asom Gana Parishad” (AGP) party.
During (2008 to 2011)
Sri Chandra Mohan Patowary elected as President of “Asom Gana Parishad” (AGP) party and become the leader of the opposition in “Assam Legislative Assembly” (ALP).

Sri Chandra Mohan Patowary joined “Bhartiya Janata Party” (BJP) in presence of then BJP National President Rajnath Singh and State President of BJP Assam Pradesh Sri Sarbananda Sonowal.
During (2016 to 2021)
Sri Chandra Mohan Patowary won the election from Dharmapur Constituency in 24 May 2016. Sri Patowary is currently the Cabinet Minister for Industries and Commerce Department, Transport, Parliamentary Affairs, Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship Development and Act East Policy Affairs Government of Assam.

Sri Chandra Mohan Patowary won the election from Dharmapur Constituency in 2nd May 2021. Sri Patowary is currently the Minister for Environment & Forests, Act East Policy Affairs, Government of Assam.
